#98 Nagra Shiv Temple (MH)

Nagra Shiv Temple is dated back to 15th century and built in Hemadpanthi style. The word Nagra has been derived from Lord Nagraj. The outstanding structure of the temple is the specimen of brilliant architecture of ancient time. The temple has 16 pillars which are without any joint. It also believed that there is ground house under the temple. Main temple is with Shiva Linga and temple complex also houses other temples such as Devi Temple, Hanuman temple.

नागरा शिव मंदिर 15 वीं शताब्दी का है और हेमाडपंथी शैली में बनाया गया है। नागरा शब्द की उत्पत्ति भगवान नागराज से हुई है। मंदिर की उत्कृष्ट संरचना प्राचीन समय की शानदार वास्तुकला का नमूना है। मंदिर में 16 स्तंभ हैं जो बिना किसी जोड़ के हैं। यह भी माना जाता है कि मंदिर के नीचे जमीन का घर है। मुख्य मंदिर शिव लिंग के साथ है और मंदिर परिसर में देवी मंदिर, हनुमान मंदिर जैसे अन्य मंदिर भी हैं।

शिव संप्रदाय के कट्टर विश्वासी- वाकाटक ने 34 सेमी के मंच पर ग्रेफाइट के अस्पष्ट पीले पत्थर में 52 सेमी शिव लिंगम का निर्माण किया। ब्रह्मासूत्र ने अपने परिसर के भीतर 75 सेंटीमीटर पुराने कुएं को ढाला है, जो पूर्वी रिंगों से घिरा हुआ है।

'Chandra Choodeswarar' means the Eshwara who wears the Moon (Chandra) as an ornament on his crest or tuft of hair on top of the head, Shiva's consort Parvathi is worshiped here as Maragathambal. ‘Maragatham’ means green and ‘Ambal’ means mother. This is in reference to the green plants and trees (Photosynthesis), which provide sustenance to all living beings.
