Yercaud is a Hill station in Salem District, in Tamil Nadu. It is located in the Shevaroys range of hills in the Eastern Ghats. It is situated at an altitude of 1515 metres above sea level, and the highest point in Yercaud is the Servarayan temple, at 5,326 feet (1,623 m).

यरकौड तमिलनाडु में सलेम जिले में एक हिल स्टेशन है। यह पूर्वी घाट में पहाड़ियों की शेव्रोईस श्रेणी में स्थित है। यह समुद्र तल से 1515 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है, और यरकौड में उच्चतम बिंदु सर्वारायण मंदिर है, जो 5,326 फीट (1,623 मीटर) है।



Stone-age implements have been found from the ancient shrine located near Shevaroy Hills ( also known as Shevarayan Hills ), which is about 5 km from the Yercaud lake.

शावरॉय हिल्स के पास स्थित प्राचीन तीर्थस्थल (जिसे शवारयान हिल्स के नाम से भी जाना जाता है) से पाषाण युग के औजार मिले हैं, जो यरकौड झील से लगभग 5 किमी दूर है।

The total density of the population is 102 people per km2. The increase of population at the rate of 20% and Yercaud being a Rural township it lacks any urban population. The literacy rate in Yercaud is 62% out of the total population.
