Pune is a City of Maharashtra. It was once the base of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire, which lasted from 1674 to 1818. It's known for the grand Aga Khan Palace, built in 1892 and now a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, whose ashes are preserved in the garden. The 8th-century Pataleshwar Cave Temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

पुणे का एक शहर है महाराष्ट्र। यह एक समय मराठा साम्राज्य के पेशवाओं का आधार था, जो 1674 से 1818 तक चला था। यह 1892 में बने भव्य आगा खान पैलेस के लिए जाना जाता है और अब महात्मा गांधी के लिए एक स्मारक है, जिसकी राख बगीचे में संरक्षित है। 8 वीं शताब्दी का पातालेश्वर गुफा मंदिर हिंदू भगवान शिव को समर्पित है।

'Chandra Choodeswarar' means the Eshwara who wears the Moon (Chandra) as an ornament on his crest or tuft of hair on top of the head, Shiva's consort Parvathi is worshiped here as Maragathambal. ‘Maragatham’ means green and ‘Ambal’ means mother.
