Yelagiri or Elagiri is a small hill station located in between the towns of Vaniyambadi and Jolarpettai (Tamil Nadu, India). The hill station dates back to the British colonial days.

The Whole of Yelagiri was once the private property of the Yelagiri Zamindar Family. It was taken over by the government of India during the Early 1950s. The house of the Yelagiri Zamindars still exists in Reddiyur. येलागिरी का पूरा समय कभी येलागिरी जमींदार परिवार की निजी संपत्ति थी। 1950 के दशक की शुरुआत में इसे भारत सरकार ने अपने नियंत्रण में ले लिया था। येलागिरी जमींदारों का घर अभी भी रेड्डियूर में मौजूद है।
Fr. Francis Guezou of Don Bosco, worked for the uplift of hill tribals. He has been the main reason for the educational upliftment to the people of Yelagiri.

Yelagiri's climate is cool in the monsoon season. The daily weather is generally pleasant. In winter, there is much less rainfall than in summer. This climate is considered to be Aw according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification. मानसून के मौसम में येलागिरी की जलवायु ठंडी होती है। दैनिक मौसम आमतौर पर सुखद होता है। सर्दियों में गर्मियों की तुलना में बहुत कम वर्षा होती है। कोपेन-गीजर जलवायु वर्गीकरण के अनुसार इस जलवायु को माना जाता है।
Yelagiri hill station is not as developed as other hill stations in Tamil Nadu like Ooty or Kodaikanal. However, the district administration has now taken up the task of developing Yelagiri Hills into a tourist destination by promoting adventure sports such as paragliding and rock climbing. येलागिरी हिल स्टेशन तमिलनाडु के अन्य हिल स्टेशनों जैसे ऊटी या कोडाइकनाल के रूप में विकसित नहीं है। हालांकि, जिला प्रशासन ने अब एडवेंचर स्पोर्ट्स जैसे पैराग्लाइडिंग और रॉक क्लाइम्बिंग को बढ़ावा देकर येलगिरी हिल्स को पर्यटन स्थल के रूप में विकसित करने का काम शुरू किया है।
The highest point in Yelagiri is the Swamimalai Hill, standing tall at 4,338 ft; Swamimalai is a destination and viewpoint for trekkers. The hill provides a number of trekking trails through thick reserved forests. Mangalam, a small village, is at the base of this hill. There are other trekking options that include smaller peaks like Javadi Hills and Palamathi Hills.
