Nageshvara temple complex is located in Begur, a small town within the Bangalore,  it is known that Begur was once called Veppur, and Kelele year of 580-625 C.E.

The Nageshvarasvami temple, also a Western Ganga construction, faces east, has a square plan for the sanctum, a vestibule, an open hall, a detached hall called mukha-mantapa whose ceiling is supported by eight pillars. 

नागेश्वरास्वामी मंदिर, एक पश्चिमी गंगा निर्माण भी, पूर्व की ओर मुख किए हुए, गर्भगृह के लिए एक चौकोर योजना, एक चबूतरा, एक खुला हॉल, एक अलग हॉल जिसे मुख-मंतपा कहा जाता है, जिसकी छत आठ स्तंभों से समर्थित है।

The Nageshvara temple has a simple square sanctum. a vestibule that connects the sanctum to a "great closed hall" (maha-mantapa or navaragna) which leads to an open hall.
नागेश्वर मंदिर में एक साधारण चौकोर गर्भगृह है। एक अभयारण्य जो गर्भगृह को एक "महान बंद हॉल" (महा-मंतापा या नवरगना) से जोड़ता है, जो एक खुले हॉल की ओर जाता है।






Nandi is placed in the mukha-mantap making it serve the purpose of a Nandi-mantapa.
नंदी को मुख-मंतप में रखा जाता है, जिससे वह नंदी-मंतप के उद्देश्य की पूर्ति करता है।

'Chandra Choodeswarar' means the Eshwara who wears the Moon (Chandra) as an ornament on his crest or tuft of hair on top of the head, Shiva's consort Parvathi is worshiped here as Maragathambal. ‘Maragatham’ means green and ‘Ambal’ means mother.
