Venkateswara Temple is a landmark Vaishnavite temple situated in the hill town of Tirumala. The Temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared here to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga.

Tirumala Hills are part of Seshachalam Hills range. The hills are 853 metres (2,799 ft) above sea level. The Hills comprises seven peaks, representing the seven heads of Adisesha. The temple lies on the seventh peak -Venkatadri, on the southern banks of Sri Swami Pushkarini, a holy water tank. Hence the temple is also referred to as "Temple of Seven Hills". Tirumala town covers about 10.33 sq mi in area.

The Temple is constructed in Dravidian architecture and is believed to be constructed over a period of time starting from 300 AD. The Garbagruha (Sanctum Sanctorum) is called AnandaNilayam. The presiding deity, Venkateswara, is in standing posture and faces east in Garbha gruha.

There are several legends associated with the manifestation of the Lord in Tirumala. According to one legend, the temple has a murti (deity) of Venkateswara, which it is believed shall remain here for the entire duration of the present Kali Yuga.
तिरुमाला में प्रभु के प्रकट होने से जुड़ी कई किंवदंतियाँ हैं। एक किंवदंती के अनुसार, मंदिर में वेंकटेश्वर की एक मूर्ति (देवता) है, जिसके बारे में यह माना जाता है कि वर्तमान कलियुग की पूरी अवधि के लिए यहां रहेगा।
The first recorded endowment was made by Pallava queen Samavai in the year 966 CE. She donated many jewels and two parcels of land (one 10 acres and other 13 acres) and ordered to use the revenues generated from that land to be used for the celebration of major festivals in the temple.
पहला रिकॉर्डेड एंडोमेंट पल्लव रानी सामवई द्वारा वर्ष 966 ईस्वी में बनाया गया था। उसने कई गहने और दो पार्सल भूमि (एक 10 एकड़ और अन्य 13 एकड़) दान की और मंदिर में प्रमुख त्योहारों के उत्सव के लिए उस भूमि से उत्पन्न राजस्व का उपयोग करने का आदेश दिया।

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is the trust board which oversees and manages the operations of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. It is operated by a Board of Trustees that has increased in size from five (1951) to eighteen (2015) through the adoption of Acts. The daily operation and management of TTD is the responsibility of an executive officer who is appointed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
तिरुमाला तिरुपति देवस्थानम (TTD) ट्रस्ट बोर्ड है जो तिरुमाला वेंकेश्वर मंदिर के संचालन की देखरेख और प्रबंधन करता है। यह न्यासी बोर्ड द्वारा संचालित होता है जो अधिनियमों को अपनाने के माध्यम से आकार में पांच (1951) से अठारह (2015) तक बढ़ गया है। TTD का दैनिक संचालन और प्रबंधन एक कार्यकारी अधिकारी की जिम्मेदारी है, जिसे आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा नियुक्त किया जाता है।
