Malpe is a natural port in the Udupi. Located at the mouth of the Maple River about six kilometers to the west of Udupi, it is an important port and a major fishing harbours in the Karnataka coast.

मालपे उडुपी में एक प्राकृतिक बंदरगाह है। उडुपी के पश्चिम में मैपल नदी के मुहाने पर स्थित, यह एक महत्वपूर्ण बंदरगाह है और कर्नाटक तट में मछली पकड़ने का एक प्रमुख बंदरगाह है|

Malpe is an ancient sea port and harbour, where Tuluvas and the western world traded.107 Malpe has been mentioned as early as the second century C.E. by the Greek geographer Ptolemy.

मालपे एक प्राचीन समुद्री बंदरगाह और बंदरगाह है, जहां तुलूवास और पश्चिमी दुनिया में कारोबार किया जाता है। 10.7 मालपे का उल्लेख दूसरी शताब्दी के शुरुआती दिनों में यूनानी भूगोलवेत्ता टॉलेमी द्वारा किया गया है।


Malpe Beach is known as a destination for holidays and picnics.The Beach has a Sea Walkway with a view of St. Mary's Island and Bhadargad Island, as well as the rest of the beach.

मालपे बीच छुट्टियों और पिकनिक के लिए एक गंतव्य के रूप में जाना जाता है। समुद्र तट में सेंट मैरी आइलैंड और भादरगढ़ द्वीप के दृश्य के साथ ही समुद्र तट भी है, साथ ही साथ समुद्र तट के बाकी हिस्से|

'Chandra Choodeswarar' means the Eshwara who wears the Moon (Chandra) as an ornament on his crest or tuft of hair on top of the head, Shiva's consort Parvathi is worshiped here as Maragathambal. ‘Maragatham’ means green and ‘Ambal’ means mother.
